A bit of honey adds a lot of sweetness to this incredible upside-down cake. Served warm, straight out of the oven with cream, it's a sticky, delicious mess.
- 50 g butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup honey
- 2 firm pears, peeled, cored and sliced
- 440 g butter cake mix, prepared as directed
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan forced). Grease and line a 22cm round cake pan. Place butter, brown sugar and honey into a saucepan and stir over a low heat until sugar dissolves.
- Pour mixture into pan and arrange pear slices over the top. Spoon over prepared cake mixture. Bake for 35-40 min or until cooked. Cool for 15 min, turn onto a serving plate and serve warm, with cream.
